Scottish Shorts

The Importance of Being Alfred is to be included in Scottish Shorts, a selection of short plays from three generations of Scottish playwrights including Davey Anderson’s Snuff, Catherine Czerkawska’s The Price of a Fish Supper, Stanley Eveling’s Better Days Better Knights, David Greig’s Ramallah, David Harrower’s 54% Acrylic, Douglas Maxwell’s Harm, Rona Munro’s The Basement Flat and Morna Pearson’s Distracted. The plays are selected and introduced by Philip Howard, Artistic Director of the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, from 1996-2007. Mostly with casts of two or three, these plays are especially well suited to performance in studio theatres and at festivals.

The Playwrights’ Studio and Nick Hern Books are hosting a launch party on Thursday 26th August, 3-5pm at THE HOLYROOD 9A, 9a Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8AE where the collection will be on sale for £10. Why not come along and raise a glass of wine to Scottish Shorts!
