Emma Carrington and Mary O’Sullivan in Remembrance Day

On the 19th April Louise was part of a panel that included the director of Scottish Opera, Alex Reedijk, composer Stuart MacRae and Financial Times opera critic Andrew Clark at the Royal Society of Edinburgh entitled, ‘A question of chemistry? The role of the composer and librettist in the creation of opera’. You can hear a podcast of the event here.

Andrew Clark also discusses Scottish Opera’s 5:15 series in a feature that explores this year’s crop of short operas from writer librettist teams including Lyell Cresswell and Ron Butlin and Zoe Strachan and Nick Fells. He also mentions Louise Welsh and Stuart MacRae’s 15 minute opera Remembrance Day (2009) .
